Description
Hand-painted Vajrapani
One of the eight major Bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhism, Vajrapani is connected to the enlightened energy and the strength of the Buddha's teachings. The vajra, a thunderbolt-like weapon that represents the unbreakable character of enlightenment and its ability to sever illusion, is typically held by him in depictions. Vajrapani is seen in Buddhist imagery as a strong and guardian deity. The Thangka acts as a focal point for spiritual activities and as a visual assistance during meditation. On their spiritual path, devotees look to Vajrapani for courage, protection, and the ability to overcome obstacles.
