Other than being a fully achieved Buddha, Guru Rinpoche is also one of the most revered sages in the Vajrayana Buddhist community. His miraculous birth was followed by millennia of service to countless creatures by the force of his compassion and knowledge. He continues to reside in the body of light, Zangdok Palri Pureland, which he made apparent.

A lotus in the Milk Ocean to the southwest of Bodhgaya was touched by the Buddha of Infinite Light's blessed light twelve years after the Buddha attained Maha Parinirvana. Thus, without having any human parents, Guru Rinpoche was magically born in that lotus through a "lotus birth.

Guru Rinpoche is accompanied at the Centre by Mandarava and Yeshe Tsogyal, his two major consorts. Guru Rinpoche in the guise of Urgen Menla to his right. the characteristic of longevity and health that emanates. And in the shape of the riches aspect's emanation, Guru Norlha, on the left.
